WARNINGS!! 12/30/2010
Please watch this video. This is how horses can react when snow falls off the roof of the barn. You need to make yourself aware of where you are around your horse at all times and keep a firm and steady hand on your horse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI1RaId4Uxgweeblylink_new_window Add Comment Daily Update 12/30/2010
Today is going to be an interesting day. All the rain and warm weather is gradually eating away at our beautiful snow! As I suspected, the snow is sliding off the roof of the barn and continues to spook the horses so please be careful out there. I have a lesson today at 9:30am, so the arena will be available for use after 11am. ATTENTION: NO ONE is allowed to use the water in the indoor arena untill I have showed you how to use it. We've had to make some changes/modifications to it. Yesterday the pump almost burned out cause it was running and running and getting nothing. We were very lucky! We are hoping work on a "fix" this weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience, but during this time of year we need to be cautious! Thank you for understanding. Daily Update 12/28/2010
Daily Update 12/28/2010
Well its going to be warm this week . . .woohoo!!! Hopefully we will have some pretty good riding weather . . . some things to consider: if the weather does get as warm as they say it will then we need to be aware of a few things. This warm weather will cause the ice and snow built up on the barn roofs to melt and shift. This can spook the horses inside and outside the barn so if you are riding inside or around, be aware and keep your horse focused on you. With melting comes mud and more mud! Allow extra time before lessons to clean up your horse. We are having difficulties with our water pump in the barn . .it's working, but it's got issues. We are working on trying to fix the cause, but it may take some time. Blossom goes in this morning to get her shoulder looked at. Hopefully we will get a good report. If you are going to the January 10th show and you are in 4H, don't forget to print off your showbucks form and have them sign it at Bounds Showtime Arena. January 15th we will be having a Showmanship clinic here at JT Ranch for the 4H members. This will begin at 10am. That's all that I have for today! Daily Update 12/24/2010
Hello everyone! Today is beautiful out! Couple of things: I am letting Blossom run around the indoor right now . .if you are planning on coming out and riding, please let me know and I will put her back in her stall. Most of you know that since her injury, she has been in her stall for over a week and I just wanted to give her a sanity break! Although we are closed for riding lessons, we are not closed for boarders. Feel free to come out and visit your horse. Driveways are plowed . . .of course . .it is snowing AGAIN!!! Plow's working so we shouldn't have a problem. Have a great day everyone! Daily Update 12/23/2010
Good morning! Temperature is great today . .can't say much for the visibility though. Just a thought for the day . . be aware of what your horses are doing and the fact that they can react in the blink of an eye. Especially when you least expect it!! Daily Updat 12/22/2010
Plow is working!! Hopefully we will have the driveway plowed by later today. Weather is great today!! Winter Weather Effects & Daily Update 12/21/2010
Good morning! First off I have to apologize to my students and boarders because our plow broke this morning while we were plowing, so the road to the barn is NOT plowed out. Unfortunately, it won't be for awhile either . . .atleast not till later on tonight. I haven't tried to drive out to the horses yet, but if you do, please be careful! Other than that, it looks like its going to be a warm one today, so it's a great day to ride! Winter Weather Effects . . . 12/20/2010
We are getting a LOT of snow here and I have already plowed once tonight (7pm). If you come out to visit your horse, we will not be plowed out again till late tomorrow morning. You can park in the driveway if you feel unsure of weather your vehicle will make it to the barn. I will update you when the snow has stopped and we have ourselves plowed out. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. All horses are tucked away tonight for bed! Again . .I would like to Welcome back Karen and her ponies Ari & Shadow. I think they are glad to be back . . when I went in to check on them before I came into the house, they gave me a pleasant nicker! Thank you for coming back to us! That's all for tonight. Drive safe if you go out on these roads!!! Daily Update 12/20/2010
